The HERTEL 334-001080 is a solid carbide countersink designed for producing clean, accurate countersunk holes in metal, composites, and other hard materials. With a 1/8 inch head diameter and a 100-degree included angle, this tool is suited for close-tolerance work where consistent seat geometry is critical. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and drill press setups. Four flutes provide smooth cutting action and efficient chip evacuation, reducing chatter and improving surface finish. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production shop operators will find this countersink well-matched to precision deburring and fastener seat preparation tasks.
This countersink is appropriate for light-duty countersinking operations on metals, plastics, and composite substrates in both job-shop and production environments. The 100-degree included angle accommodates flat-head fastener seating requirements common in aerospace, electronics, and general metalworking applications. The compact 1/8 inch head diameter makes it particularly useful in confined areas or on small workpieces where larger countersinks cannot be used effectively. It is sold individually as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use countersink for standard 1/8 inch straight-shank collets and drill press or milling machine chuck configurations used in general metalworking and production machining.
This countersink is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a compatible collet chuck or drill press spindle. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and spindle is locked before changing tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank with appropriate collet torque for the machine type. Run at manufacturer-recommended speeds for carbide tooling based on workpiece material; avoid hand-feeding at excessive pressure, which can chip carbide cutting edges.
