The HERTEL 333-008550 is a solid carbide countersink designed for creating clean, accurate countersunk holes in a wide range of materials. With a 3/4 inch head diameter and a 60-degree included angle, this tool generates the correct seat geometry for flat-head fasteners used in precision machining and fabrication work. The three-flute design balances cutting efficiency with surface finish quality, making it well suited for production environments and job-shop applications alike. The bright, uncoated carbide construction provides rigidity and edge retention without the added variables of a coating, keeping regrind and reconditioning straightforward.
This countersink is used in metalworking, tooling, and industrial fabrication settings where consistent countersink geometry is required. The straight cylindrical 1/2 inch shank fits standard drill press chucks, CNC machining centers, and milling machine collets, making it accessible across a broad range of machine setups. It is appropriate for use by machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators working with steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials. The single-end, non-piloted design is suited for applications where hole location has already been established.
Designed as a direct-fit countersink for machines accepting a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank, including drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers used in general metalworking and fabrication applications.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds and feeds for carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation and verify runout before cutting. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed the spindle speed appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
