The HERTEL 333-003070 is a solid carbide countersink designed for producing clean, accurately angled seat profiles in metal, composites, and similar materials. It features a 90-degree included angle with a 45-degree centerline angle, a 1/4-inch head diameter, and a straight cylindrical 1/4-inch shank. The three-flute geometry provides a balance of cutting efficiency and surface finish quality. The bright, uncoated carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to production and maintenance shop environments. Machinists and tooling technicians install this countersink in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power tools with compatible collets or chucks.
This countersink is intended for countersinking operations where a 90-degree seat angle is required. Typical applications include preparing fastener seating holes for flat-head screws and rivets in light fabrication, sheet metal work, and general machining. Its compact 1/4-inch head diameter makes it well-suited to close-tolerance work and smaller hole patterns. The single-end, no-pilot design gives the operator direct control over positioning. It is supplied as a single unit with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed for use in standard drill presses, machining centers, and handheld power tools equipped with a 1/4-inch collet or chuck capable of accepting a straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with cutting tool safety practices. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized collet or chuck before operation, and confirm the workpiece is clamped to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting speeds for the workpiece material and inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use. Disconnect or de-energize the machine before changing or adjusting tooling.
