The HERTEL 333-001050 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precise, clean chamfering and countersinking operations in metal, composite, and similar materials. It features a 1/8-inch head diameter with a 60-degree included angle and three flutes for efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks in that bore size. A bright, uncoated finish is standard. This tool is installed and used by machinists, tool and die professionals, and maintenance technicians working with small-diameter countersink applications.
This countersink is suited for light-duty countersinking tasks where a 60-degree included angle is specified, such as preparing holes for flat-head fasteners with matching seat geometry. The 1/8-inch head and shank diameter make it appropriate for work on small, precision parts where larger tooling would be impractical. It is a single-end tool without a pilot, so operator setup and hole alignment are managed through fixturing and press or CNC positioning. Typical applications include small-part manufacturing, prototype work, and maintenance repair operations requiring a compact countersink profile.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in machines accepting a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank, including CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills running appropriate collet or chuck toolholding systems.
This tool is installed by machinists and tooling technicians. Secure the shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the 1/8-inch diameter before operation, and ensure the spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before tool changes. Because this countersink has no pilot, proper workpiece fixturing or programmed positioning is required to maintain hole concentricity. Always operate at speeds appropriate for carbide tooling in the material being machined, and inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use.
