The HERTEL 331-010070 is a single-flute countersink designed for creating conical seat profiles in metal and composite workpieces. It features a 1-inch head diameter, a 90-degree included angle, and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 0.5 inches in diameter. The bright, uncoated alloy steel construction provides rigidity for controlled material removal. Right-hand cutting direction suits standard machine spindle rotation. This tool is intended for use in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or maintenance environments.
The 331-010070 countersink is suited for countersinking operations in alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic workpieces. Its single-flute geometry reduces chatter on harder materials and produces a clean, consistent finish on the countersunk seat. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct chuck mounting without an adapter. It does not include a pilot and is configured as a single-end tool, making it straightforward to set depth with a drill press stop or CNC Z-axis offset.
Designed for countersinking operations in alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic. Fits any drill press, milling machine, or CNC machining center capable of accepting a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
A licensed machinist or qualified technician should install and operate this tool. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet before starting the spindle. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Set depth using a drill press stop or CNC Z-axis offset rather than feeding by feel to avoid overcut on the countersunk seat.
