The HERTEL 331-002060 is a single-flute solid carbide countersink designed for precision hole preparation in metalworking and fabrication applications. It operates at an 82-degree included angle with a 41-degree centerline angle, making it well suited for standard flat-head fastener seat preparation. The 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank fits common drill chucks and collet holders. The bright, uncoated carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. This tool is intended for right-hand cutting rotation and is supplied as a single end type without a pilot. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and fabricators install this countersink in manual drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools.
This countersink is suited for use on alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic. It is a compact, small-diameter tool appropriate for light-duty countersinking tasks where a 3/16-inch head diameter is the required geometry. Typical applications include deburring and chamfering pre-drilled holes to accept flat-head screws and rivets in precision machined components. The single-flute geometry reduces chatter on harder materials and improves surface finish in the countersink seat.
Designed for use on alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic workpieces. The 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting that shank diameter.
This countersink is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a drill press, milling machine spindle, or hand-held power tool equipped with a compatible chuck or collet. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation and confirm spindle rotation is set to right-hand before engaging the tool. Do not use this tool in reverse rotation. Follow standard shop safety practices including eye protection and appropriate speeds for the workpiece material.
