The HERTEL 30211600 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and related electronic assembly work. This bit uses a No. 32 wire gauge diameter (0.116 inches) with a 130-degree drill point angle and a fast spiral flute geometry optimized for clean entry and chip evacuation in hard, thin, or layered materials. The 1/8-inch shank diameter seats in standard collet chucks and high-speed spindles. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 3/8-inch flute length, it is sized for controlled, shallow drilling passes on dense substrates. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and electronics manufacturing technicians are the primary installers.
This bit is suited for precision drilling in both electronics manufacturing environments and general machining applications requiring tight-tolerance small-diameter holes. Compatible materials include alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloy, stainless steel, and titanium. The bright polished finish reduces friction and heat buildup during cutting. The right-hand cutting direction and tapered web configuration support accurate centering at entry, making this bit a practical choice for production drilling operations where hole location and wall integrity are critical.
Compatible cutting materials include alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloy, stainless steel, and titanium. Designed for use with collet chucks and precision drill spindles accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter.
Install in a compatible collet chuck or precision drill spindle rated for the required RPM range for small-diameter carbide tooling. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing bits. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts, or over-clamping the shank, as these can cause chipping or fracture. Verify runout at the spindle before use to maintain hole-location accuracy.
