The HERTEL 30204200 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit sized at No. 58 wire gauge (0.0420 inches / 1.07 mm diameter). It features a 130-degree drill point angle, a fast spiral flute geometry, and a tapered web configuration designed to evacuate chips efficiently in printed circuit board and precision drilling applications. The 1/8-inch (0.1250-inch) shank diameter fits standard collet chucks on CNC drill presses and high-speed spindles. With a right-hand cutting direction and a 35-degree helix angle, the bit maintains accuracy and minimizes breakout on thin and layered workpieces. A bright polished finish reduces friction and heat buildup at the cutting edge.
This bit is suited for precision drilling in PCB fabrication, electronics assembly, and light machining environments where tight hole tolerances are required. The solid carbide construction also makes it capable of drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and titanium in toolroom and production settings. It is typically run on CNC machining centers, dedicated PCB drill stations, or benchtop drill presses with collet tooling. Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with small-diameter carbide drill bits. Secure the shank fully in a matched collet or chuck before running the spindle. Carbide bits are brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts at extreme feeds, or contact with hard fixtures. Set spindle speed and feed rate according to the workpiece material and manufacturer cutting data for the specific diameter; do not run carbide bits at speeds or feeds intended for high-speed steel tooling without adjustment.
