The HERTEL 30204100 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and small-diameter hole applications. Built to wire gauge size 59, it measures 0.0410 inches (1.04 mm) in diameter with a 130-degree drill point angle optimized for clean entry and reduced walking on hard, flat surfaces. The fast spiral flute geometry and 35-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation in deep or repeated-pass drilling. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 1/8-inch straight shank, this bit is sized for use in CNC drill spindles and precision hand-held drilling equipment.
This drill bit is suited for small-bore drilling operations across a range of metalworking and electronics manufacturing applications. The solid carbide construction and bright uncoated finish make it appropriate for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and titanium. Right-hand cut geometry and a tapered web configuration support consistent hole quality in both production and repair environments. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and PCB fabrication operators are the typical end users.
Designed as an OEM-style small-diameter drill bit for use in CNC drilling machines, precision bench drills, and handheld micro-drilling equipment accepting a 1/8-inch straight shank. Suitable for drilling alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and titanium as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the 1/8-inch shank fully in a compatible collet or chuck before operation to prevent runout and bit breakage. Carbide bits are brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed control, and contact with hard fixtures. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection appropriate to the workpiece material.
