The HERTEL 30008200 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and related light machining applications. Built to a No. 45 wire gauge size with a decimal diameter of 0.082 inches (2.08 mm), this bit features a 118-degree drill point angle and a fast spiral flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation in small-diameter drilling. The tapered web configuration adds rigidity and helps maintain hole accuracy. A bright polished finish reduces friction and heat buildup at the cutting edge. Installed by electronics manufacturing technicians, precision machinists, and trade professionals working with tight-tolerance through-hole applications.
This drill bit is suited for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel, making it applicable beyond PCB work in general precision machining contexts. The heavy-duty grade solid carbide construction handles demanding, repetitive drilling cycles where high-speed steel tooling would wear prematurely. The 0.625-inch flute length and 1.5-inch overall length are sized for standard PCB drill press spindles and benchtop machining centers. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and CNC applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use precision drill bit for circuit board drilling operations and small-diameter machining applications requiring a No. 45 wire size (0.082 inches) solid carbide bit with a 0.082-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by precision machinists or electronics fabrication technicians using a drill press, CNC drilling machine, or compatible benchtop unit. Verify spindle collet size accepts a 0.082-inch shank before mounting. Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement during drilling, particularly in thin PCB laminate or sheet stock. Inspect the cutting edge before each use — solid carbide bits are brittle and should not be forced into misaligned or canted holes.
