The HERTEL 30007300 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit sized at wire gauge 49, with a decimal diameter of 0.0730 inches (1.85 mm). The 118-degree split point geometry and fast spiral flute design enable clean, precise entry in printed circuit board materials and other thin-stock applications. A bright polished finish reduces friction and heat buildup during high-speed drilling. The tapered web configuration adds rigidity along the flute length of 0.625 inches (15.88 mm), with an overall length of 1.5 inches (38.10 mm). This bit is handled by electronics manufacturing technicians, PCB assemblers, and precision machinists working in production or repair environments.
This bit is suited for drilling operations in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel, in addition to its primary circuit board applications. Its right-hand cutting direction and 35-degree helix angle support chip evacuation in deep or interrupted cuts. The 1.85 mm shank diameter matches the 1.85 mm drill diameter, making it compatible with standard CNC drill spindles and precision hand-held drilling equipment used in electronics and light metalworking applications.
Designed as a precision circuit board drill bit for use in CNC drilling machines and high-speed drilling equipment accepting a 1.85 mm shank diameter. Suitable for material applications including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or electronics manufacturing technicians familiar with precision drilling equipment. Ensure the spindle and collet are clean and properly torqued before seating the bit to prevent runout at this small diameter. Disconnect or power down all drilling equipment before changing or inspecting bits. Solid carbide is brittle at small diameters — avoid side loading and do not use in hand drilling applications where lateral deflection cannot be controlled.
