The HERTEL 30004300 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and related light-machining applications. Sized at wire gauge 57 (0.0430 inches / 1.09 mm), this bit features a 118-degree drill point angle and a fast spiral flute geometry with a 35-degree helix angle. The tapered web configuration promotes chip evacuation and helps maintain hole accuracy at small diameters. Overall length is 1.5 inches with a 0.625-inch flute length. The bright, uncoated finish is suited for applications where coating buildup at small diameters would compromise tolerance.
This bit is intended for use in drilling operations involving cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel, in addition to circuit board substrates. Its compact geometry and tight diameter tolerance (-0.0005 to 0.0000 inches) make it appropriate for applications requiring repeatable hole quality, such as PCB drilling fixtures, instrument manufacturing, and precision sheet metal work. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard CNC and benchtop drill press spindles.
Suitable for use in standard CNC drilling centers, PCB drill presses, and benchtop drill presses capable of accommodating a 0.0430-inch shank. Rated for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and steel per manufacturer specification.
Installation and operation of small-diameter carbide drill bits should be performed by machinists or qualified technicians familiar with spindle speed and feed rate requirements for carbide tooling. Ensure the collet or chuck is clean and properly sized for the 0.0430-inch shank before seating the bit. Carbide bits are brittle at small diameters — avoid side loading and do not use in hand-held drilling applications. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for runout tolerances to prevent premature breakage.
