The HERTEL 300-001505 is a solid carbide combination drill and countersink designed to perform two operations in a single pass: drilling a pilot hole and cutting a countersink seat simultaneously. Built from solid carbide with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life in demanding production and repair environments. The body diameter is 1/4 inch, the drill point diameter is 7/64 inch, and the overall length is 2 inches. The 118-degree drill point angle and 60-degree included countersink angle are standard geometry for metalworking applications. This tool is used by machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and maintenance technicians working in metal fabrication and aerospace-adjacent repair environments.
This combo drill countersink is suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a precisely positioned countersink seat is required before fastener installation. It is a Trade Size No. 3 tool with a plain cutting edge style and a double end type, allowing both ends to be used before the tool is retired. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard drill press and CNC spindle rotation. It is not an aircraft-style or long-length variant, and the cutter head is not insertable.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for Trade Size No. 3 combination drill countersinks used in standard drill press, manual lathe, and CNC machining center applications requiring a 1/4 inch body diameter and 7/64 inch drill point.
Installation and use of this tool is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians operating drill presses, lathes, or CNC equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before loading or changing the tool. Secure the tool firmly in an appropriate collet or drill chuck rated for the 1/4 inch shank diameter. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to preserve tool life and surface finish quality.
