The HERTEL 2410504 is a chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent sizing and smooth surface finish in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The reamer measures 0.7812 inches (25/32 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 9-1/2 inches. Eight spiral flutes with a left-hand spiral direction and right-hand cutting action reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole reaming operations. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for tight-tolerance bore finishing on manual lathes, CNC lathes, and drill presses.
This chucking reamer is suited for production and job-shop environments where accurate hole sizing is required after drilling or boring. The straight-cylindrical shank allows it to mount directly in standard drill chucks, collets, and floating reamer holders. With a 2-1/2 inch flute length, it is well suited for moderate-depth holes in workpieces across general metalworking, toolroom, and maintenance-repair operations. It is not configured as a dowel-pin reamer or an over/under-size reamer, making it a standard nominal-size tool for everyday reaming work.

Chucking reamers are installed and operated by qualified machinists following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool from the chuck or collet. Use an appropriate cutting fluid for the work material to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. Never force a reamer into an undersized hole; always pre-drill or bore to the recommended pre-ream diameter before finishing.
