The HERTEL 2386720 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-cycle drilling in metal fabrication, machining, and maintenance applications. It measures 9/64 inches (0.1406 inches decimal) in diameter with a 1-15/16 inches overall length and a 15/16 inches flute length. The bit is manufactured from heavy-duty high-speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating to extend tool life and reduce heat buildup at the cutting edge. The 135-degree split point with web thinning allows the bit to self-center on contact, reducing the need for a center punch on most materials. Licensed machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users.
Screw machine length drill bits are shorter than jobber-length bits, which increases rigidity and reduces deflection during drilling.
