The HERTEL 2350288 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers accurate sizing of drilled or bored holes to close tolerances. The reamer measures 0.4375 inches (7/16 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 7 inches and a flute length of 1-3/4 inches. Six right-hand spiral flutes provide smooth chip evacuation and consistent surface finish. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and floating holders, making it a practical choice for machine shop and production environments.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing holes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals on drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers. The right-hand cutting direction and spiral flute geometry make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole reaming where a quality surface finish and tight dimensional accuracy are required. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians use this style of reamer when a drilled hole needs to be brought to final diameter. It is a single-piece replacement unit, packaged individually.
Designed as a straight-cylindrical shank chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks, collet holders, and floating reamer holders on drill presses, lathes, and machining centers that accept a 7/16 inch diameter tool.
Chucking reamers are installed and removed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the manufacturer-specified grip depth before starting the machine. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to prolong tool life and achieve the target surface finish. Inspect the reamer for edge wear before each use and replace when dimensional accuracy can no longer be maintained.
