The HERTEL 2350106 is a chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and other machinable materials. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer features 4 right-hand spiral flutes that produce smooth, accurate bores to a nominal diameter of 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch decimal). The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard chuck holders on mills, drill presses, and lathes. With an overall length of 4 inches and a 1-inch flute length, it is suited for shallow-to-moderate depth reaming operations in production and maintenance machining environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This chucking reamer is applied in general metalworking, toolroom, and maintenance-repair-operations (MRO) settings where a finished bore in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch diameter range is required. It is commonly used to bring drilled holes to close-tolerance final size in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The right-hand cutting direction and spiral flute geometry support efficient chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole reaming at standard reaming speeds and feeds for HSS tooling.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in any machine tool equipped with a drill chuck or collet capable of holding a straight-cylindrical shank in the 5/32 inch diameter range.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists using mills, drill presses, or lathes. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the reamer from the chuck. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Always ream at reduced spindle speeds relative to drilling — consult published HSS reaming speed-and-feed tables for the specific workpiece material.
