The HERTEL 2341907 is a bridge reamer designed for enlarging and aligning bolt holes in structural steel, heavy fabrication, and ironwork applications. It is constructed from high-speed steel (HSS) with an oxide finish for improved wear resistance and chip evacuation. The reamer measures 1-1/16 inches in diameter with a 5-inch flute length and a 7-inch overall length. Five spiral flutes with a left-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction provide smooth, chatter-free cutting action. The quick-change hex shank allows fast tooling changeovers in compatible power tools and pneumatic drills used by ironworkers and structural fabricators.
This bridge reamer is suited for structural steel erection, bridge construction, and heavy plate fabrication where bolt holes need to be reamed to final size or brought into alignment. It is used with heavy-duty pneumatic or electric drills and right-angle drives common on job sites and in fabrication shops. The 1-5/8-inch quick-change hex shank accommodates standard bridge reamer chuck adapters. A small end diameter of 5/8 inches allows easy hole entry before the full cutting diameter engages the material.
Designed as an OEM-style bridge reamer for use with standard quick-change hex shank adapters and pneumatic or electric bridge reamer drivers used in structural steel and heavy fabrication applications.
Bridge reamers are installed and operated by ironworkers, structural fabricators, and millwrights using pneumatic or electric right-angle drills with compatible hex shank chuck adapters. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped or bolted before reaming to prevent movement. Apply cutting oil or a suitable metalworking lubricant to the reamer and hole entry point to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating reamers in structural steel applications.
