The HERTEL 2341840 is a bridge reamer designed to enlarge and finish holes in structural steel and heavy fabrication applications. Built from high-speed steel with an oxide coating, it delivers consistent cutting performance in demanding shop and field conditions. The reamer measures 13/16 inches in diameter with a 5-inch flute length and 7-inch overall length. A left-hand spiral with right-hand cut geometry helps pull chips up and out of the hole during the cut, reducing chatter and improving hole quality. Licensed machinists, ironworkers, and structural fabricators are the primary users of this tool.
This bridge reamer is suited for structural steel connections, beam fabrication, and heavy plate work where bolt holes require final sizing or alignment. The straight 1-1/4-inch shank seats securely in standard drill press chucks and heavy-duty portable drill setups used in the field and in the shop. It is well matched to applications that require precise hole finishing in ferrous metals at moderate to high feed rates.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use bridge reamer for structural fabrication and ironworking applications requiring a 13/16-inch finished hole diameter with a standard straight shank setup.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists, ironworkers, or qualified fabricators using a drill press, magnetic drill, or heavy-duty portable drill. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized chuck before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped or fixed to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid for high-speed steel tooling on ferrous metals to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Inspect the reamer for wear or damage before each use and never force a dull tool through material.
