The HERTEL 2328854 is a straight-flute hand reamer designed to finish and size pre-drilled holes to a precise 0.6250 inch diameter. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance in a range of metals and materials. The reamer runs 7 inches in overall length with a 3.5-inch flute zone, giving machinists and toolmakers adequate chip clearance and control during manual reaming operations. Eight flutes distribute cutting load evenly, reducing chatter and improving hole finish. The straight shank fits standard reamer drivers and tap wrenches for hand use.
This hand reamer is suited for job shop, maintenance, and tool room applications where holes require final sizing or light cleanup passes after drilling or boring. It is commonly used in metalworking trades by machinists, maintenance mechanics, and millwrights working on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The right-hand cut geometry works with standard clockwise rotation during both the cutting and withdrawal strokes.
Designed as a general-purpose hand reamer for manual sizing of 5/8 inch diameter holes in metalworking applications. Fits standard tap wrenches and reamer drivers that accept a straight shank.
Hand reamers are installed and operated by machinists or mechanics using a tap wrench or suitable driver. Always apply cutting fluid during the reaming stroke to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Rotate clockwise only during both forward and reverse strokes to avoid damaging the cutting edges. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured before beginning the operation.
