The HERTEL 2291524 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal workpieces. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer produces accurate finished bores to a wire size 52 diameter of 0.0635 inches. The four-flute, right-hand cutting geometry provides clean material removal and consistent hole quality in production and toolroom environments. With an overall length of 3.0 inches and a flute length of 0.5 inches, this reamer fits standard drill press chucks, CNC machining centers, and manual milling setups. It is sized within the 0.0500 to 0.0999 inch decimal inch range and ships in a minimum quantity of one.
This reamer is suited for precision reaming operations in light-duty ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Its straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in drill chucks and collets, making it a practical choice for job shop and production floor use where wire-gauge bore sizing is required. The right-hand cutting direction and bright finish make it appropriate for general-purpose reaming without special coatings or lubrication systems. It is not configured as a dowel pin reamer or an over/under-size reamer.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in drill press chucks, CNC machining center collets, and manual milling spindles accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the wire-size small-diameter range.
Chucking reamers should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout with a dial indicator where bore tolerance is critical. Always apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and operate at recommended reaming speeds, which are generally lower than drilling speeds for the same diameter. Never force a reamer through an undersized pilot hole — the bore should be pre-drilled to within accepted stock-removal allowance before reaming.
