The HERTEL 2291326 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-ream holes to a precise wire gauge No. 32 diameter of 0.1160 inches. Built with 6 straight flutes and a straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard drill press and CNC chucks without modification. The 3.5-inch overall length and 0.875-inch flute length make it well-suited for shallow, high-precision finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and toolroom operators rely on chucking reamers like this one to bring drilled or bored holes to final size with tight tolerances and a smooth surface finish. This reamer is used in machining operations where a wire-gauge-sized hole must be held to close dimensional tolerances. Chucking reamers are installed and changed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the reamer from the chuck. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully and evenly in the chuck to prevent runout, which is the primary cause of oversized or out-of-round holes. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material, and never use a chucking reamer to remove more stock than manufacturer guidelines allow for the diameter class.
