The HERTEL 2290120 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled holes to precise tolerances. With a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) diameter, 4-1/2 inch overall length, and 1-1/8 inch flute length, this reamer delivers consistent bore sizing in metal workpieces. The bright, uncoated HSS construction provides good wear resistance for general-purpose reaming on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Six straight flutes and right-hand cutting direction produce a clean, smooth finish on through-holes and blind holes in production and maintenance machining environments.
This chucking reamer is suited for use in drill presses, lathes, CNC machining centers, and manual mills where hole finish and dimensional accuracy are required. It is a standard fit for tool-and-die, maintenance, and general metalworking shops handling light to medium reaming tasks in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch diameter range. The straight-cylindrical shank seats reliably in standard drill chucks and collet holders.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and milling machines requiring a 3/16 inch diameter straight-shank reamer in HSS.
Chucking reamers should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolmaker. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet holder to minimize runout, which directly affects hole finish and tool life. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish.
