The HERTEL 2058337 is a straight-shank chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled holes to a precise 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) diameter. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The reamer features 6 spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction, providing smooth chip evacuation and consistent finish quality. Overall length is 7 inches with a 1-3/4 inch flute length. It is installed in a drill press, milling machine, or CNC machining center using a standard straight-cylindrical shank chuck. Machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople rely on this tool for precision hole finishing in production and maintenance environments.
This chucking reamer is suited for finish reaming operations where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole reaming in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials on manual and CNC machine tools. The TiCN coating supports higher cutting speeds and longer tool life compared to uncoated HSS, making it a practical choice for repeat production work as well as general-purpose shop use.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers equipped with straight-shank chuck toolholding systems accepting 7/16 inch shank tooling.
Machine tools must be powered down and locked out before changing or inspecting tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a properly sized chuck or collet holder before operation. A licensed machinist or trained tool operator should verify spindle speed and feed rate settings appropriate for the workpiece material and reamer diameter before cutting. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine-tool manufacturer guidelines during setup and use.
