The HERTEL 19204 is a single-flute high speed steel countersink designed for creating chamfered seat profiles in metal, wood, and composite materials. With a 5/16-inch head diameter, a 100-degree included angle, and a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank, this tool mounts directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders without adapters. The single-flute geometry reduces chatter on hand-held and light-duty drill press applications, producing clean, burr-free countersink seats for flathead fasteners. High speed steel construction provides adequate hardness for general-purpose metal and production shop use.
This countersink is suited for machine shops, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with flathead screw applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 100-degree included angle matches the seating geometry required for many metric and unified flathead machine screws. The straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard 1/4-inch drill chucks and collet systems commonly found on drill presses, CNC machines, and hand drills. It is sold as a single unit and is appropriate for both low-volume repair work and repetitive production countersinking tasks.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use with standard 1/4-inch straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders on drill presses, hand drills, and CNC spindles where a 100-degree included angle is required.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or qualified technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and confirm the workpiece is clamped to prevent movement. Run at appropriate speeds for the material being cut and use cutting fluid when countersinking ferrous metals to extend tool life. Always wear eye protection when operating drilling or countersinking equipment.
