The HERTEL 19098 is a single-flute countersink designed for producing chamfered entry holes in metal workpieces. It features a 5/8-inch head diameter, a 100-degree included angle, and a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank that seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. Constructed from high speed steel, this countersink delivers consistent cutting performance across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is suited for machinists, tool-and-die makers, and general metalworking trades that require precise countersinking prior to fastener installation or part assembly.
This countersink is appropriate for bench drill press, CNC, and hand drill applications in light manufacturing, maintenance, and repair environments. The single-flute geometry reduces chatter and produces a clean, smooth finish in the countersink seat. The 100-degree included angle accommodates fastener head profiles that call for a wider chamfer than the common 82-degree or 90-degree standard, making it well suited for specific aerospace, military, or custom fastener specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style countersink for use in drill press, CNC, and hand drill setups that accept a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank tool holder.
This tool is installed by a machinist or metalworking technician. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool if damage is present.
