The HERTEL 12467397 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineering plastics. With a 0.25-inch cutting diameter and a 0.75-inch length of cut, it delivers accurate flat-bottom slots, pockets, and profile cuts. The micrograin carbide construction provides edge retention and resistance to chipping under demanding cutting conditions. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The bright uncoated finish makes this tool well suited to applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill is sized for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills handling light to medium material removal tasks. The 0.25-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and set-screw-style toolholders commonly found in job shops and maintenance machining environments. The single-end, center-cutting configuration allows plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. With a 2.5-inch overall length, it provides sufficient reach for standard-depth workpieces without excessive tool overhang.
Designed as a standard 0.25-inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, set-screw end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders accepting 0.25-inch shank tooling across common CNC and manual milling platforms.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and runout specifications. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the holder type before tightening. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to prevent premature edge wear or tool failure during cutting.
