The 1-202-0801 is suited for manual lathe setups in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production machining environments. It handles a wide range of workpiece diameters, making it appropriate for general-purpose turning, facing, and boring operations. The self-centering scroll mechanism allows fast workpiece loading without individual jaw adjustment. The through-hole diameter of 2.1654 inches accommodates bar stock fed through the spindle bore.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade chuck for manual metalworking lathes accepting an 8 inch diameter 3-jaw chuck mount. Verify spindle nose type and back plate configuration before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Disengage and lock out the lathe spindle drive before mounting or removing the chuck. A proper back plate matched to the lathe spindle nose type is required for secure mounting. Follow the lathe manufacturer's torque and mounting procedures for chuck retention hardware.
