The HERTEL 06822035 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN coating, it handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials with consistent edge retention. The 7/8 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 3/4 inch shank and a 1-7/8 inch length of cut, giving machinists a rigid, reach-appropriate tool for slotting, profiling, and peripheral roughing cuts. Five flutes increase chip load per pass while the right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral provide predictable chip evacuation. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shop and production environments.
This roughing end mill is suited for general-purpose milling of steels, alloy steels, and similar materials where stock removal rate is the priority over finish quality. It is sized for use in standard vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines accepting 3/4 inch collets or end mill holders. The regular-length geometry makes it a practical fit for the majority of conventional roughing operations where extended reach or variable helix is not required. It does not center-cut, so plunge entry is not recommended without pre-drilling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit roughing end mill for milling machines and machining centers equipped with 3/4 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, or Weldon-style holders.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety protocols. Seat the 3/4 inch shank fully into the holder before tightening to the manufacturer-specified clamping torque for the holder type in use. Because this end mill is not center-cutting, avoid direct plunge cuts into solid material. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to maximize tool life and surface consistency.
