The HERTEL 04139119 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge 64, equivalent to 0.0360 inches in diameter. It is designed for holemaking in hard, abrasive, and high-strength materials where standard high-speed steel bits wear prematurely. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and requires less feed force at entry, making it well-suited to tight-tolerance drilling in metal fabrication and mechanical service work. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a flute length of 0.625 inches, this bit is built for short, precise holes in confined applications. A cobalt oxide and gold coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance. Installation and use are performed by machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and HVAC technicians drilling pilot or clearance holes in metal components.
This drill bit is used in light industrial and trade service applications where small-diameter, tight-tolerance holes are required in hardened steel, stainless, cast iron, or other difficult-to-machine metals. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. The regular spiral and tapered web configuration provide consistent chip evacuation in short-hole drilling. It is appropriate for bench drills, hand drills, and drill presses used in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-in or equipment repair work where wire-gauge-sized clearance holes are needed.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill replacement for applications requiring a wire gauge 64 straight-shank drill bit with a 0.0360-inch diameter. Compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of that diameter.
This bit is installed and used by machinists, electricians, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized chuck before operation. Power down all equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures when drilling into energized or pressurized systems. Use appropriate cutting fluid for extended tool life when drilling hard metals, and avoid excessive feed pressure that can deflect or break small-diameter bits.
