The HERTEL 04138541 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 7, equivalent to 0.2010 inches in decimal. It is oxide and TiN coated for increased surface hardness and wear resistance. The bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on contact and lowers the thrust required to start a hole. A right-hand spiral flute with regular helix and web-thinned, tapered web geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during cutting. This is a heavy-duty grade tool intended for professional use in metal fabrication, maintenance, and repair applications where standard HSS tooling falls short.
This jobber drill is suited for holemaking in tough materials including stainless steel, high-strength alloys, and hardened steels where cobalt's thermal stability provides a measurable advantage over standard high-speed steel. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks across a wide range of benchtop drill presses, magnetic drills, and handheld power tools. Machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and HVAC fabricators will find this size practical for bolt clearance holes, sheet metal work, and general precision drilling tasks. It is sold as a single unit.
Designed as a jobber-series replacement for standard No. 7 wire gauge drill bits. Fits any drill press, magnetic drill, or power tool equipped with a chuck accepting a 0.2010-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with applications requiring drill bit sizes in the 0.2000 to 0.2500 inch decimal range.
Install into a properly sized drill chuck and tighten securely before operation. Verify spindle speed is appropriate for the material and bit diameter before drilling. Use cutting fluid or coolant when drilling harder alloys to prolong tool life, noting this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
