The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 88216 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding stainless steel and high-temperature alloy machining applications. Built on the Stainless and High Temp series platform, it features a 4-flute, variable-pitch design that reduces harmonic chatter and promotes stable cuts at aggressive feed rates. The 0.2187 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.0100 inch corner radius and a 0.6250 inch length of cut. A Tplus coating adds surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life when working through tough, work-hardening materials. This tool is intended for professional machinists and CNC operators running stainless, Inconel, titanium, and similar alloys.
This end mill fits single-end milling operations in CNC machining centers and vertical mills where corner integrity and chip evacuation are critical. The 35-degree helix angle and right-hand flute direction promote smooth chip flow out of the cut zone, reducing recutting and heat buildup. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving operators flexibility in toolpath programming. The 0.2500 inch straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard ER collets and end mill holders without modification.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and vertical mills running stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and similar work-hardening materials via a 0.2500 inch straight cylindrical shank compatible with standard collet and end mill holder systems.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the shank is seated fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification before operation. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or wear before each use, particularly after runs in abrasive or work-hardening alloys. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when setting cutting parameters.
