The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 87695 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill built for high-demand metal removal in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hardened steel. It runs a 3/16 inch cutting diameter with a 5/16 inch length of cut and a 0.0150 inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life in tough materials. The 4-flute, variable-pitch geometry helps break up harmonic chatter during aggressive passes. A Tplus PVD coating provides thermal resistance and lubricity suited to the elevated cutting temperatures generated in stainless and high-temperature alloy work. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank, it fits standard precision toolholders used in CNC milling operations.
The 87695 is designed for the HSV-4 series and targets machinists running stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel on CNC machining centers. Its stub-length profile increases rigidity, making it well suited for side milling, slotting, and finishing passes where tool deflection must be minimized. Secondary applications include steel and cast iron. The centercutting design allows plunge entry. High precision toolholders are recommended to hold runout within the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum specification.
Designed for use with high precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron. Part of the HSV-4 series end mill line.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Use a high precision toolholder to maintain runout within the rated TIR maximum. Verify speeds and feeds against the material being cut before beginning a production run, as stainless steel and high-temperature alloys require conservative parameters to avoid work hardening.
