The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 86751 is a 5-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding materials. The cutter features a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and a 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch) length of cut. It carries a Tplus PVD coating optimized for extended tool life in abrasive and heat-resistant workpiece materials. The variable index pitch geometry reduces harmonic chatter during both roughing and finishing passes. With an extended reach design and a 1 inch reach length, this end mill addresses deep-pocket and thin-wall features that standard-reach tools cannot safely approach. Machinists and CNC programmers in precision job shops and aerospace production environments are the primary users.
The 86751 is built for cutting stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel — material classes that demand tight tolerances and superior edge integrity. The extended reach geometry and reduced neck diameter of 0.1180 inch allow access to confined features while maintaining rigidity. It is single-end and centercutting, supporting both plunge and ramping entry strategies. The HEV-RN-5 series designation identifies this as part of HELICAL SOLUTIONS extended variable-pitch roughing and finishing line. High-precision toolholders with low runout are strongly recommended to preserve the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR specification and protect the corner radius tolerance of -0.0020 to +0.0020 inch.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include stainless steel (material code M), high-temperature alloys (material code S), and hardened steel (material code H). Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-RN-5 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Seat the shank fully in a high-precision toolholder to maintain the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR specification — collet chucks or hydraulic holders with appropriate bore size are typical choices. Confirm spindle and machine tool are powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended reach length for the workpiece material, as extended-reach tools are more sensitive to side-load deflection.
