The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84559 is a 6-flute, single-end square end mill designed for high-efficiency milling (HEM) in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Ground from solid carbide stock and finished with an APLUS coating, this tool delivers the hardness and lubricity required for aggressive material removal at elevated feed rates. The mill diameter is 0.375 inches with a 1.5-inch length of cut, a 3.5-inch overall length, and a straight 0.375-inch shank. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during high-load cuts, extending tool life and improving surface finish in difficult-to-machine workpiece materials.
This end mill is built for CNC machining centers and mill-turn operations where titanium and high-temp alloy cutting is routine. The variable pitch geometry and APLUS coating make it particularly well-suited for aerospace, medical, and heavy industrial shops running HEM toolpaths at high radial engagement with reduced axial depth. It is also effective in steel and stainless applications where chatter suppression and heat management are priorities. The straight shank fits standard ER and end mill holders without modification.
Designed for use in CNC machining applications cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Compatible with standard straight-shank end mill holders and ER collet chucks sized for a 0.375-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or lock-out state. Seat the straight shank fully into the holder and torque the retention nut or set screw to the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use. Follow your machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when programming HEM toolpaths with this cutter.
