The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84511 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in superalloys and titanium. It runs a 1/2 inch diameter with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and a 3 inch overall length. The APLUS PVD coating is applied to extend tool life under the heat and abrasion generated when cutting titanium and titanium alloys. The 6-flute variable-index geometry reduces harmonic chatter, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Coolant-through capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, which is critical for thermal management in high-temp alloys. This tool is designed for use in high-precision toolholders.
The 84511 is suited for aerospace, defense, and precision manufacturing environments where titanium and nickel-based superalloys are the primary workpiece materials. The corner radius end geometry handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, reducing changeovers during multi-stage operations. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility in slotting and pocket-milling applications. This tool belongs to the HVTIC-6 series, which is purpose-built for difficult-to-machine materials in demanding production settings. Installation and use should be performed by machinists experienced with high-alloy toolpath programming and toolholder runout requirements.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are titanium and titanium alloys (Material Application Code: S). Part of the HVTIC-6 series.
This tool should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with carbide end mill handling and high-alloy cutting parameters. Secure the shank in a high-precision toolholder to stay within the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR specification. Before tool changes, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Verify coolant-through flow is active and unobstructed before engaging the cut in titanium or superalloy stock.
