The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 84406 is a 6-flute, solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. It carries a 0.1250-inch mill diameter with a 0.2500-inch length of cut and a 1.5000-inch overall length. The APLUS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat management during aggressive cuts. A variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter, making this tool effective for both roughing and finishing passes. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals working in CNC milling applications on ferrous and high-temp workpiece materials.
The 84406 belongs to the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-6 series, engineered specifically for milling steel and stainless steel as primary workpiece materials, with additional capability in cast iron and high-temperature alloys. The 0.1250-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and tool holders sized for 1/8-inch tooling. The standard-length profile and 0.2500-inch reach length suit close-tolerance pocket, contour, and profile milling operations where a compact cutting zone is required.
Designed for use in CNC milling applications targeting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Compatible with standard 1/8-inch straight-bore collet chucks and tool holders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before inserting the shank. Use a calibrated collet or tool holder that meets the h6 shank diameter tolerance requirement to maintain runout within the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum specification. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer feed, speed, and depth-of-cut recommendations for the specific workpiece material and operation.
