The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83939 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in superalloys and titanium. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0600 inch corner radius, and six flutes with a variable index pitch for reduced harmonics and improved surface finish. The overall length is 5 inches with a 2.75 inch length of cut, and the 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank is ground to an h6 tolerance for precise toolholder fitment. An APLUS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat tolerance during high-temperature cutting operations. This end mill is rated for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, making it a practical choice for aerospace, medical, and energy sector machining environments.
This tool is designed for use in CNC machining centers where high-performance cutting of titanium and titanium alloys is required. The HVTI-6 series is built specifically around the challenges of cutting difficult superalloy workpiece materials, where tool life and runout control are critical. A maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches makes it well-suited for high precision toolholders. Single-end, centercut geometry allows for both plunge and conventional milling operations. Machinists working in job shops or production environments cutting aerospace-grade titanium alloys will find this tool fits standard toolholder setups without modification.
Intended for use with high precision toolholders. Optimized for cutting titanium and titanium alloys as part of the HVTI-6 series. Shank diameter is held to an h6 tolerance for consistent fitment in collet and hydraulic toolholder systems.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Use a high precision toolholder as specified for this series to maintain TIR within rated limits. Verify runout at the toolholder before committing to a production cut. Follow machine tool manufacturer recommendations for speeds, feeds, and coolant strategy when cutting titanium alloys.
