The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83680 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-efficiency material removal and finish work in aluminum and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 0.1250 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 45-degree helix angle. The Zplus PVD coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life in aluminum and other non-ferrous applications. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, this single-end, center-cutting tool suits both roughing and finishing operations on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for production and job-shop environments running aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and secondary materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. The H45AL-3 series geometry is optimized for high-speed aluminum strategies where chip evacuation and surface finish are priorities. It is intended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain the tight TIR tolerances required for demanding finishing passes.

Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank in a high-precision collet chuck or hydraulic toolholder to maintain the specified maximum TIR of 0.0003 inches. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. Verify toolholder bore cleanliness and shank condition before seating to avoid runout that can damage the corner radius geometry.
