The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83295 is a 4-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in stainless steels, superalloys, titanium, and other hard materials. It carries a 1/2 inch cutting diameter with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 0.2500 inch nose radius, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes in demanding applications. The Tplus PVD coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability during aggressive cuts. The variable index geometry reduces harmonics and chatter, improving surface finish and tool life. This end mill is installed and run by machinists and manufacturing technicians working on CNC milling centers.
This end mill is built for shops cutting stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, cast iron, and hard materials on CNC machining centers. Its stub-length profile and straight-cylindrical shank make it a practical choice for setups where rigidity and minimal overhang are priorities. The 2-1/2 inch overall length keeps deflection low during aggressive material removal. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, suited for standard CNC spindle configurations in aerospace, medical, and precision manufacturing environments.
Designed for use in CNC milling applications on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, and cast iron workpieces per the series designation: 4 Flute - Ball - Variable Pitch (Tplus), End Mills for Stainless Steels and High Temp Alloys.
Install in a precision toolholder sized for a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank; shrink-fit, hydraulic, or collet-style holders are all compatible provided shank tolerance h6 is respected. Confirm runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR before beginning a cut. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Follow shop SOP and machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed when cutting superalloys and titanium, as these materials generate significant heat and tool loads.
