The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83250 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, superalloys, titanium, and hardened steel. It carries a 1/4 inch mill diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius and a 1/2 inch length of cut, making it suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. The 4-flute, variable-pitch geometry reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, and the PVD-applied Tplus coating extends edge life in abrasive and heat-generating materials. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers running stainless or exotic alloy work are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill belongs to the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HSV-4 series, which is purpose-built for stainless steel and high-temperature alloy machining. The variable pitch flute spacing addresses the chatter that commonly arises when milling Inconel, titanium, and austenitic stainless grades at high material removal rates. It is equally capable on secondary materials including carbon steel and cast iron. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry and is compatible with high-precision toolholders. Typical applications include profile milling, slotting, and contour work on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers in job shop and production environments.
The 83250 is a member of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HSV-4 series and is designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hardened steel; secondary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Confirm TIR does not exceed 0.0005 inches at the cutting edge before running the program. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Verify feed, speed, and depth-of-cut parameters against HELICAL SOLUTIONS published cutting data for the target workpiece material before the first pass.
