The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83193 is a 4-flute, single-end, square end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in stainless steel, steel, and cast iron applications. Ground from solid carbide and finished with a Tplus coating, this tool delivers the hardness and thermal resistance needed when cutting high-temp alloys and work-hardening materials. The 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 5/8 inch (0.6250 inch) length of cut, giving machinists a controlled radial engagement zone suited to slotting, profiling, and finishing passes. Variable-pitch flute indexing reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. Right-hand cutting and right-hand helix geometry, combined with a 35-degree helix angle, promote efficient chip evacuation and help prevent recutting in tight pockets.
This end mill is built for CNC machining centers and manual mills where stainless steel, alloy steel, and cast iron are the primary workpiece materials. The straight 3/16 inch shank fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders commonly used in production shops and job shops. With a 2.5 inch overall length and a compact 0.1875 inch diameter, it is well suited to detail features, narrow slots, and contoured profiles where rigidity and reach must be balanced. It is a direct fit for operations requiring ISO material groups P, M, and K coverage from a single tool.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard straight-shank toolholders. Suited to ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), and K (cast iron) per the series designation: End Mills for Stainless and High Temp - 4 Flute - Square - Variable Pitch.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholder torque and runout procedures for solid carbide end mills. Confirm shank seating depth and minimize overhang to preserve rigidity at this diameter. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Refer to the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the workpiece material.
