The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83153 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for aggressive roughing operations in stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel. It measures 1/2 inch in diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length. The 6-flute, variable-pitch geometry reduces harmonics and chatter during heavy material removal, while the chipbreaker profile breaks chips into manageable segments to prevent recutting. A PVD-applied Tplus coating provides thermal resistance and edge lubricity. This tool is installed and run by machinists and CNC programmers working in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is part of the HEV-C-6 series, which is designed specifically for stainless steel and high-temperature alloy applications including superalloys and titanium. The stub flute length and straight cylindrical shank make it well suited for short-reach, high-load roughing passes on vertical machining centers and horizontal mills. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece. Compatible workpiece materials also include cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and hydraulic toolholders; the manufacturer specifies use with high-precision toolholders for best runout performance.

Follow the tooling manufacturer and machine OEM guidelines for feeds, speeds, and coolant strategy when cutting stainless steel or superalloys.
