The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83119 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a 2.125-inch length of cut, and a 0.0300-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. With five flutes and a variable pitch configuration, it delivers smooth chip evacuation and reduced harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. The Tplus PVD coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability. This tool is center-cutting and single-end, with a straight-cylindrical 5/8-inch shank and a 4-inch overall length.

This end mill is rated for primary use in stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steel, making it a fit for aerospace, medical, die and mold, and heavy industrial machining environments. The HEV-C-5 series is engineered for roughing operations where tool deflection and chatter are primary concerns. It is recommended for use with high-precision toolholders to take full advantage of its 0.0005-inch maximum TIR specification. Secondary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron.

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a high-precision toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum before beginning a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool if damage is observed.
