The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 83001 is a 5-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 1/64 inch (0.0150 inch) corner radius. The Tplus PVD coating is applied via a proprietary process to extend tool life in high-heat, work-hardening materials. Variable pitch flute geometry reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, supporting both roughing and finishing operations. This is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for CNC machining centers running high-precision toolholders.
The 83001 is built for use in professional CNC machining environments where stainless steel and high-temperature alloys are the primary workpiece materials. It also performs in non-ferrous and hard material applications as a secondary use case. The variable pitch design of the HEV-5 series makes it a strong choice when chatter suppression is critical, such as in deep-wall pocket milling, contour finishing, or slotting in difficult-to-machine alloys. High-precision toolholders are recommended for optimal runout control with this tool.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes M and S). Secondary materials include non-ferrous metals and hard materials (material codes N and H). Part of the HEV-5 series by HELICAL SOLUTIONS.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the CNC spindle at a full stop and machine placed in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a high-precision toolholder and verify TIR does not exceed 0.0005 inches before running. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use. Follow the toolmaker's recommended feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the specific workpiece material and machine setup.
