The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82995 is a 5-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. It carries a 3/8-inch mill diameter and a 1/2-inch length of cut, with a 2-inch overall length on a straight cylindrical shank. The Tplus PVD coating extends tool life when cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 0.090-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, helping maintain part accuracy and surface finish. Variable pitch geometry minimizes chatter during aggressive cuts. This tool is centercutting and handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup.
The 82995 is suited for milling stainless steel, titanium, and nickel-based superalloys in precision machining shops, aerospace component work, and medical part production. It also performs well on hard materials and non-ferrous metals as secondary applications. The stub flute length and right-hand cutting, right-hand spiral configuration make it a practical choice for pocketing, slotting, and profiling on CNC machining centers where rigidity and runout control are critical. High-precision toolholders are recommended to take full advantage of the tool geometry and maintain TIR within specification.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders on CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary applications include non-ferrous metals and hard materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state. Seat the shank fully in a high-precision collet or shrink-fit holder to maintain runout within the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum. Avoid using worn or low-precision holders, as excess runout accelerates edge wear and can cause premature tool failure on hard alloys. Confirm cutting parameters against the manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material before engaging the cut.
