The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82953 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for machining stainless steel and high-temperature alloys. It features a 3/16 inch diameter, 5-flute geometry with a variable-pitch index to reduce harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts. The 1 inch length of cut and Tplus coating work together to extend tool life in high-heat, work-hardening materials. The helical, right-hand flute direction promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the centercutting capability allows for plunge entry. This tool is sized for precision finishing and profiling passes in difficult-to-machine materials and is installed and run by machinists working on CNC mills and machining centers.
This end mill is engineered for use in stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, titanium, and other high-temperature resistant materials in both job shop and production environments. The 3/16 inch shank diameter pairs with standard ER collets and milling chucks for secure tool holding. The variable-pitch (variable index) design makes it particularly well suited for long-reach profiling and slotting operations where vibration and tool deflection are primary concerns.
Part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Stainless and High Temp - 5 Flute - Square - Variable Pitch series. Designed for use in CNC machining centers and knee mills equipped with standard 3/16 inch ER collets or milling chucks. Intended for stainless steel and high-temperature alloy applications.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the manufacturer-recommended gauge line, and verify runout before cutting. Power down the spindle completely before changing or adjusting the tool. Always confirm feed rate, spindle speed, and depth-of-cut parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity before engaging the cut.
