The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82951 is a 5-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in stainless steels and high-temperature alloys. It carries a 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch) cutting diameter, a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) length of cut, and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The Tplus coating improves lubricity and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures, extending tool life in demanding materials. A variable-pitch flute spacing reduces harmonic vibration and chatter, which is critical when cutting austenitic stainless grades or nickel-based superalloys. This end mill is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand helical flutes, suitable for slotting, peripheral milling, and light profiling operations.
This tool is designed for CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-accuracy work is required in stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and similar hard-to-machine materials. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) in diameter, fitting standard ER collet chucks and other precision toolholding systems common in job shops, aerospace shops, and precision manufacturing environments. Machinists and CNC operators working on tight-tolerance components in stainless or high-temp alloys will find this tool appropriate for finish and semi-finish passes at reduced depths of cut.
Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Stainless and High Temp - 5 Flute - Square - Variable Pitch series. Designed for use in stainless steels, high-temperature alloys, and similar difficult-to-machine materials in CNC and manual milling applications.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or toolholder to the appropriate clamping depth before use; inadequate grip can cause tool pullout or breakage. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as small-diameter carbide end mills are sensitive to runout. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for appropriate feeds, speeds, and coolant application for the workpiece material.
