The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82766 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. Built from solid carbide with a Zplus PVD coating, it delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for both roughing and finishing passes. The 1/8 inch diameter cutter features a 0.0300 inch corner radius, a 3-flute right-hand spiral geometry with a 35-degree medium helix angle, and a 1/2 inch length of cut. The Zplus coating is engineered specifically for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, reducing built-up edge and improving chip evacuation. A TIR maximum of 0.0003 inch keeps runout tight, making this tool well-suited for high-precision work where dimensional accuracy matters. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace shops, and general manufacturing facilities are the typical end users.
This end mill is primarily rated for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. The coarse pitch, right-hand cutting direction, and centercutting capability make it effective for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations on CNC machining centers. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard collets and high-precision toolholders. The H35AL-3 series is built for shops running aluminum-heavy production work where surface finish and tool life are priorities.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders and standard straight-cylindrical collet systems accepting a 1/8 inch shank. Rated for aluminum and non-ferrous metals as primary workpiece materials, with secondary compatibility in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials per the H35AL-3 series specification.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully and evenly in a clean, high-precision collet or toolholder before torquing to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or damage before each use. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut.
