The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 82669 is a solid carbide high-feed end mill designed for aggressive material removal at elevated feed rates with reduced axial depth of cut. The 5-flute geometry distributes cutting forces evenly, improving chip evacuation and extending tool life in demanding applications. At 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.0314-inch program radius, this end mill is built for high-feed milling strategies where spindle load and cycle time are critical concerns. The Tplus coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, making it suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Single-end configuration with a 3-inch overall length.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers for roughing and semi-finishing operations where high metal removal rates are required. The 0.25-inch cutting length and 0.50-inch reach length make it well suited for shallow-depth, high-feed passes on hardened steels, stainless steels, and heat-resistant alloys. Machinists and tooling engineers use this geometry when conventional end mills would generate excessive tool deflection or chatter at high feed rates. It is sold as a single-end tool in individual unit quantities.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 1/4-inch collets or toolholders. Compatible with high-feed milling strategies on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Specific machine or fixture compatibility depends on spindle interface and programmed feed and speed parameters.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a properly sized collet or hydraulic toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on high-feed geometries.
